Japan - "We are here"- fostering solidarity with migrants

The Jesuit Social Centre Migrant Desk recently joined NGOs from all over Japan for a national convention on migrant rights in the country. Titled "Campaign for Rights of Migrants 2020 - Koko ni iru. I am here; we are here", the convention's theme was an expansion of one of the core concepts of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games - Unity in Diversity. Fr Ando Isamu SJ, Head of the Jesuit Social Centre Migrant Desk, and two other members of the team were among the 150 delegates who gathered in Hokkaido on June 9 and 10 for the convention organised by the Solidarity with Migrants in Japan (SJM) network.
