South Asia - Nepal earthquake
More than 7,000 people have died after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake rocked Nepal on April 25, and rescue and relief efforts in the country are ongoing. The Jesuits in Nepal have embarked on relief efforts especially in some of the worst hit and less accessible areas. According to news reports, many communities are isolated by damaged infrastructure and communications, making it difficult to determine the extent of the destruction.
