CPAL Social apostolate calls for strengthening of networks
From the 16th to the 22nd of June the directors of social centres and the social coordinators from the Provinces in Latin America gathered together in Puente Grande (Mexico) for their annual meeting. They had time for exchange, prayer and the opportunity to visit some of the social activities run by the Jesuits in Mexico. At the end of the meeting they decided a) to strengthen the present networks (for migrants, network of social centres, indigenous ministry and ecology); b) to have a closer collaboration with universities and to support the Global Ignatian Advocacy networks at the international level; c) to look for ways to reflect and express a position about the natural resources extractive model that is expanding in the world and about violence and peace building focusing mainly on the youth. The meeting ended bidding farewell to Alfredo Ferro, who has been the social coordinator for the Conference during the last 6 years and now assigned to Amazonia and welcoming Roberto Jaramillo who takes over as the Social Coordinator.
