BOLIVIA: The Intellectual Apostolate should characterize the work of the Society

La Paz (18 July 2018) - All apostolates of the Society must be characterized by the intellectual apostolate, says Father General Arturo Sosa. Speaking when he addressed representatives of the educational works of the Society of Jesus in Bolivia, Father General said, "Many times this type of apostolate is understood as the exclusive task of university centres or researchers. I propose that we broaden this understanding, so that all educational work and all apostolates carried out by the Society and by the institutions under its responsibility may be a truly intellectual apostolate." Apostleship of Prayer - new guide to historic archives

A new inventory (finding-aid) is available online for the archives of the Apostleship of Prayer (now the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network) held in ARSI (Jesuit Archives Rome). In 2019, the Apostleship of Prayer celebrates 175 years since its foundation in 1844. Therefore, it is opportune to revisit the roots of the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network. The guide includes the founding documents of this enduring apostolate in which Jesuits have been involved from the beginning.

In addition, the regional directors' correspondence from across the Catholic world shows how this apostolate developed in various countries. The Eucharistic Congresses also feature.
