Every morning during the general congregation, Fr. Vlastimil Dufka called the assembly to prayer with an oboe solo. This daily prayer-and-music complemented the solemn liturgies that marked the opening and closing of the congregation as well as special moments such as the Thanksgiving Mass celebrated by the newly-elected superior general, Fr. Adolfo Nicolas. Fr. Bob Scullin is a musician from a different liturgical tradition who played one of his hymns during one of the services. Together they reflect on the importance of music in our Jesuit life.
