Jorge Eduardo Serrano-Ordoñez,
Assistant Treasurer for Development Resources
Born in Bucaramanga, Colombia, Jorge Serrano-Ordóñez graduated from Javeriana University in 1976, and from the PUC, Rio de Janeiro in 1982. He received a master’s degree in Rural Development in 2006 from Javeriana. He joined the Society of Jesus in 1969, was ordained in 1983.
Since his ordination he has been: Director of the Peace Campaign “Todos somos hermanos” en Cúcuta, Colombia (We are all brothers and sisters), 1983-1988; Pastor, San Pío X, Cúcuta, Colombia, 1983-1988; Pastor, San Francisco Xavier, Bogotá, Colombia, 1991-1994; Coordinator for Colombian Jesuit Parishes, 1991-1994; Pastor Assistant, San Francisco de Asís Parish, Marabá, Brazil, 1995-1997; Pastor Assistant, San Pablo Parish, San Pablo, Bolívar, Colombia, 1997; and Director of Jesuit Refugee Service JRS-Colombia, 1999-2002. In 2004 he was Amar y Servir Foundation Director (“Love and Serve”) in Colombia and CPAL’s Claver Network Coordinator, from 2008 to 2010.
In 2010, Fr. Serrano began working in the General Curia in Rome as Assistant Treasurer for Development Resources (ATDR).
